The
International Rafting Federation IRF and the
Dutch Rafting Federation NRB are proud to announce that the
Teva World Rafting Championships 2010 will be held at the artifical white water facility
Dutch Water Dreams in The Netherlands on the 12th-17th of July. More than 50 teams from over 25 countries will compete against each other for the first time in history on an artificial course and will deliver an impressive showdown on water. With five-star elite teams from countries like Brazil, Germany, USA and Japan the event will show the highest possible level in whitewater expertise, cameraderie and extreme sports. Alongside the
Teva World Rafting Championships 2010 for adults, the event will also host the first ever Youth World Champs during the same week.
The event will kickoff on the 12th of July when all teams have the opportunity to train and can get used to the artificial whitewater course of
Dutch Water Dreams. After a few days of various disciplines for the youth teams, the adult rafting elite will clash on Thursday 15th with the Sprint and Head 2 Head discipline. These spectaculair disciplines will certainly display the impressive assets of rafting and will portrait power, speed and teamwork. On Friday 16th the king of all rafting disciplines will take place, the slalom! This discipline is the hardest discipline in rafting and will show teams in their most technical state of mind. Teamwork is key and the winner takes all! The big finaly will be held on Saturday 17th with the down river. The down river is all about power, stamina, willpower and not for the faint hearted.
Of course, no event is complete without a unforgettable party. After the closing ceremony on Saturday 17th followed by an evening BBQ with some smooth musical beats, so everybody can come chill in the beach area, grab a lounge chair and relax. The Beach House will be serving up beverages and the party with DJ’s and a rocknroll band will go on all night long.
It will be certain that the worlds rafting-elite will amaze all the spectators on location. The
Teva World Rafting Championships will write history as the first World Champs ever held on an artificial course. During the opening of this facility in the summer of 2006 more than 600.000 spectators visited and enjoyed their stay. So join us on the 15th, 16th or 17th of July for a whitewater spectacle. This is one event you won’t want to miss! Stay tuned for more information regarding all information about the Teva World Rafting Championships 2010 or follow us on

Athletes are responsible for all their own rafting equitment and cloting. We suggest good protective footwear, helmet and life jacket (based on IRF minimum standard in the race rules - section J point 1). Weather in July is usually 20 - 25 Celsius and water temp will be around 15 Celsius.
The WRC2010 course at Dutch Water Dreams is technical, fast moving and continuous. We advise teams to practice technical paddling skills on class 3 and 4 as well as self rescue. We will have Rescue 3 Beneux safety teams present at all official training hours. If the safety team feels a team does not have the required skills to self-rescue effectively you may be asked to withdraw from the race. This is a last resort but your safety is our first priority.
We highly recommended you are comfortable and able to do the following:
1. Paddle a 300 meter section of continuous and fast white water level III - IV.
2. Control and effective self rescue, swimming in an offensive and/or defensive position, be able to judge swimming into eddy's by using the current, without help of throw lines or paddles! Understand how to unpin a raft without using ropes.
Additional trainingsessions prior to the Worlds 2010 can be booked via Dutch Water Dreams. There are no set training sessions prior to the event yet. Keep an eye on the latest news to see if any set sessions are organized.
